Singing Lessons

Lesley-Jane is a fully-qualified and highly-experienced singing teacher, whose methods encourage a good technique, a sound musical knowledge and awareness of different musical styles.   As a performer with a vast experience in many different genres – oratorio, recitals, “vocal concertos” with orchestra, chamber music, contemporary music – she is able to draw on her own expertise in preparing singers for their next solo rôle.   She only teaches advanced students, such as music students, young professionals or good amateur singers (those likely to be given a step-out solo).

Lesley-Jane studied singing and piano at the Royal Academy of Music, from where she gained her Singing Teaching Qualification [LRAM].  She teaches at her home using a grand piano or harpsichord as appropriate.

Lesley-Jane also spent fourteen years as ‘Senior Vocal Tutor’ at Bristol University working with principal-study singers, and is delighted that several of her former students are now professional singers in their own right.

Styles:  she teaches baroque (including work with harpsichord);  Classical;  Romantic;  20th-century;  and New Music/Contemporary Music.

She has also given many Masterclasses and Choral Workshops.
